2. Products
All of our candles are handmade. Each item may vary slightly in colour, fragrance, or appearance due to their handcrafted nature.
Product descriptions and images are for illustrative purposes. We aim to ensure accuracy but cannot guarantee that colours or details will exactly match what you see on your screen. Please note the candle wax colour may change over time and use of the candle.
3. Orders
By placing an order, you agree that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, for example, if products are unavailable, there is an error in the product description/price, or if we suspect fraudulent activity.
Once your order is placed, you will receive an email confirmation.
4. Pricing & Payment
All prices are listed in GBP (£) and include VAT (if applicable).
Payment must be made in full at the time of ordering via our secure checkout (powered by Wix and its payment partners, such as PayPal or Stripe).
We reserve the right to update prices at any time, but confirmed orders will not be affected.
5. Delivery & Shipping
We only ship within the United Kingdom.
Orders are dispatched using a variety of delivery suppliers.
Estimated delivery time is 2–5 working days, but delivery times may vary depending on the delivery provider.
Delivery costs are shown at checkout.
Risk in the products passes to you once delivered to your specified address.
6. Returns & Refunds
We want you to be completely happy with your purchase.
You have 28 days from receipt of delivery to return your order for a refund.
Returned products must be unused, in their original condition and packaging.
Customers are responsible for return postage costs (unless the item is faulty) and will be reimbursed for this when we receive the item in it's original condition and packaging.
Refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 14 days of us receiving your return.
If your order arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us within 48 hours with photos, and we will arrange a return label and replacement or refund.
7. Subscriptions
Our subscription services provide customers with a regular delivery of West Hill Apothecary candles according to their chosen plan (Signature Scent or Seasonal Scent) monthly. Each subscription includes: one full size (30cl) hand-poured scented soy wax candle per delivery, a new or seasonal scent chosen by West Hill Apothecary. All candles are made in small batches using natural soy wax and high quality fragrance oils.
The subscription price and billing frequency are clearly displayed on each product page. Prices are inclusive of VAT. Prices do not include delivery fees. Payments are automatically processed by Wix on the same date each billing period via your chosen payment method. You will receive an order confirmation after your first purchase of a subscription product outlining your billing and delivery details. Subscription candles will be dispatched between 2-5 working days of each billing date.
Subscriptions can be cancelled any time before your next billing date to avoid being charged for the following month. To cancel please email hello@westhillapothecary.co.uk. Once a payment has been processed, that month's order cannot be refunded or cancelled. If you cancel after a payment has been taken, your final candle will still be shipped.
There is a 14-day cooling off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. You may cancel within 14 days of receiving your first candle for a full refund, provided the item is unused and in it's original packaging. To cancel this right, email hello@westhillapothecary.co.uk. You are responsible for return postage unless the item is faulty or damaged. The cooling off period does not apply to subsequent recurring deliveries in your subscription.
We reserve the right to adjust pricing or shipping frequency with at least 14 days notice to you, and substitute fragrances of packaging where necessary due to availability.
Your subscription will be renewed automatically on a rolling basis until cancelled by you. By purchasing, you authorise recurring billing through your payment provider. You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time by emailing hello@westhillapothecary.co.uk.
8. Safety Instructions
All candles come with safety instructions on the label and a leaflet inside the delivery box.
Customers must follow these instructions to ensure safe use.
We are not liable for any damage, injury, or loss caused by failure to follow the provided safety guidance.
9. Intellectual Property
All website content, including text, images, and product descriptions, is the property of West Hill Apothecary Ltd.
You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without our written permission.
10. Liability
Our liability for any product purchased through our website is strictly limited to the price paid for that product.
We are not liable for:

Delays or losses caused by postal/delivery services

Allergic reactions to fragrances where ingredients are listed on the product (usually on the base).
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.

We handle your personal information in accordance with our privacy policy.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of our website will be deemed acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
